Default First things to do after buying a 1998 Lexus LS 400

I just brought a 1998 Lexus LS 400 with 100,000 miles and everything working. I have never owned a Lexus before and I would like to know what would be the first things I should do to make sure everything keeps working. Is their any preventive maintenance I should do ? Anything I should go ahead and replace? Just anything experienced Lexus owners would do if they bought this car. Thanks

Check the service records to see if your timing belt has ever been replaced. It's supposed to be replaced at 90k.

Timing belt and all the pulleys and or bearings, water pump, tensioner etc. Serpentine belt check all pulleys for bad bearings, change fluids and filters. Transmission just the normal drain and fill, using only the correct fluid. Check brakes, clean in and out good and wax / polish etc. Check all suspension parts for looseness, tire wear and pressures. All lights working? Battery and connections. Condition of all the hoses, look for leaks. If your not sure about the timing belt don't put it off, its the first thing on the agenda.

And don't forget to put air in the spare time.. most people forget to look at that for years... then when they need it, it's worthless without air in it.

if you input your VIN into the lexus drivers website, it'll usually tell you what major maintenance has been completed. My 97 had dealer records showing on there through 115k miles as it was a Lexus Certified vehicle.
