Are all stock intakes the same over the years?

Are all stock intakes the same over the years?
Hey guys, just bought a 98 LS400 but it came with a cold air intake installed. He gave me an Apexi piggyback to put on, but I'd rather return the intake to stock since this is going to be my daily. Are all the intakes the same across model years or are they different? I'm going to go to pull a part to try to find an intake to swap over.

stock intakes are not all the same across the model years as far as i know. 98-00 are for sure the same. Maybe you could find one off a GS400 or a SC400, but I can't guarantee those are the same
also, make sure you get an intake that doesn't have the plastic nipples broken off of it, mine came like that :/

other model intakes are not interchangeable and will not fit.
For LS400 intakes/airboxes the following rules apply:
98-00 intakes are interchangeable. 89-94 are interchangeable, as are 95-97. Outside of within those subgenerations you cannot mix-match.
You're looking for a 98-00 LS400 airbox/intake. Nothing else will work out of the box. Not an SC3/400. Not a 2GS4.
