96 LS 400 Security system/starting problem
I washed my engine and that's when starting problem first happened. Starter just clicks as I turn the key. It has been doing this for a while now every time it reigns. I haven't been using my original keyless remote ever since the first time it wouldn't start. So I guess my question is how to replace the module for security system because I don't want to disable it? Sometimes (very seldom) the car would only lock, nothing else, battery in remote is good.
I would like to keep it as original as possible.
It has no aftermarket security system or remote start.
Where exactly is the security system located (or its main components)? Is there a fuse or reley I should check?

If the starter makes a click noise the problem is not the security system. It could be bad, dirty, corroded, messed up, battery terminal connections, also the ground connection. The rain and moisture is helping to aggravate the condition. That's my guess.

Starter replaced at 120,000mi
the car now has 197000mi
Checked all the possibilities of bad connections and also inspected every single fuse.
Next time it does it I will record a video. If I can catch it.
The click doesn't seem to come from starter. Somewhere behind the ignition column or maby behind the dash.
Only when it reigns very bad or as soon as I sprey motor a little bit.
Other than that not a single oil leek, previous owner gave me everything he had far as maintenence goes, he owned it from 60000 to 166000 miles.
100% Lexus maintained.
I apriciate your advice and I will check all the connections and battery terminals again.

1.5 years ago engine was washed. Battery 3 years old with Lexus 8 yr warranty, battery voltage I still have to check but it fires right up and interior/exterior lights are strong and bright all the time. That's the only thing, when it reigns or gets wet.

Or do you mean when it RAINS?
And sorry mechanics, machinists, electronics, and programmers, have to get things exact. Since I do all them I get a bit picky.
SPRAY motor.........

Regarding the problem, I'd monitor the voltage at the terminal 5-2H of the J/B No.2.
Below is the related wiring diagram of a Celsior but a USDM should be the same.
