Has anyone heard of these or heard of people running them?

It will ride much rougher. The point of the flex joint or guibo, is to flex. Eat some of the vibrations. Not to mention it will also put extra strain on the rest of your driveline.

The ls400 guibo is actually very high quality. I still have the original on mine and it has lasted 200k mi and counting.

Okay sounds good. Where can I get the oem one. I've seen others but not sure if it's the right one. Don't really want to buy the cheap one.

I would assume you could order through the dealer. I replaced mine on my old e46. It was a real pain in the ***. Had to drop the exhaust just to get to the driveshaft. I'm willing to guess that it's a lot easier on the LS400. I'm sure there is a DIY on it somewhere

As long as your not drag racing that flex joint should go 500k or more miles. Got one with almost 300k and never had engine or transmission mounts nor the flex joints done.

There is one way to eliminate the guibo's altogether, reduce drivetrain vibration, and increase performance...go with a composite driveshaft.

Far superior to metal driveshafts in all aspects;

They can be custom made for an LS400 between $1,500 -$2,000... a group buy might reduce the price further...probably down to $1,200-1,500.

If your driveshaft center joint expires, that means replacing entire driveshaft..i$1,250,if your guibos require replacement another $600...without labor.

​​​​​DO NOT go with solid Guibos...you will damage your drivetrain in short order (unless that is your goal)

For those interested in composite driveshafts, but require ebery last drop of drivetrain isolation (I am one of them) they can also be produced to accommodate guibos.
