Anyone knows what (if any) 1997 body parts are interchangable with 1998-2000 LS?
I am looking to swap interior rear door panel, mine has a crack, just want to know what years LS's to look at as a donor.

Thanks,
Val

I don't know those years at all, but I've seen others say they all be gen2, if that's the case all parts would interchange. The front ends are different meaning fenders etc. but I suppose they would go on a 95 with no problem. And lucky you since I said this I'm sure someone will come here to make me the idiot, some here like to do that.

PD may have more info on the specifics. My suggestion would be to look through this site to compare part#'s.

1997 rear door RR interior part # 6763050310B0
1999 rear door RR interior part # 6763050380B0

So, one digit difference, they must be slightly different.

PD will confirm but i'm fairly certain there are very minor differences in the rear doors, though the general shape is the same and could still possibly fit. the minute difference could be as simple as a different placement of a bracket or more reinforcement.

the part numbers alone show a small difference.

If there is a difference then what I've been told that they are all gen 2 is then wrong. I personally aways thought that the 98 on up was a gen 3, it should be called that for the front sheet metal difference. Just like an 89 to a 94 looks the same outside, the 95 to 97 looks the same, and the 98 to 2000 look the same so that's 3 generations.

The chassis code remained the same and was denoted by minor change before or after. I think of them as the 2.5. Small changes in placement of mounting points that direct fit was not universal between them. The body lines are most obvious on the front and rear so IDK how a 97 door may be on a 98. Would probably mount up but the lines may be softer-harder thus not matching exactly. If it works, great and there may be slight internal differences in electrical contacts between the other hardware.

I know for sure the nose and clip will work from a 98 to a 95 and vice versa, below for reference

the entire front end swap has been known for over a decade. However that does not really help in this situation.
