Looking to Wrap my 2000 LS
The paint on my LS is in not so great shape.
I have front end body work, so a primered hood, fender, and bumper.
Local body shops want around 3k to spray the car with a single stage paint, never mind pearl.
So I'm thinking about wrapping the car. 3m has a nice satin pearl white vinyl.
So I have a couple questions. The front bumper looks pretty hard to do with the bottom opening. And also our cars don't have a "rain gutter" on the roof. So I would need to splice a seam.
For the bumper I was thinking about having a shop spray the bottom the 2 tone grey, and wrapping the rest.
What's your thoughts?

I quickly added up a shopping cart from dipyourcar, with pearl, and the machine, it costs more than 5'x50' of pearl white wrap. The wrap is $450ish
Ether one I will do myself.
Also, how will the dip last in new England winters?
I would like this to last 5 years.

wrap is HIGHLY recommended over a dip. i hope dicer was being sarcastic

wrap job will take a few days especially if you have never done one before. i say wrap the entire car, no need for a two tone paint job unless you like that look. most wrap jobs are done in sections especially in areas with lots of curves like the bumper.
3k for a paint job is pretty steep meaning it should be quality. if you are looking to paint just to have the car one color, a maaco paint job should be well under $800.

I think I'm leaning more towards the wrap. I do however like how dipyourcar has TONS of how to videos. But I don't want to have to redo it every year .
As for the 2 tone. My thinking was to have the vents in the bumper sprayed, and transition from paint to vinyl where the chrome trim is. I think ether way, I will remove the cladding to tuck the wrap under.
I'm still hoping I don't have a issue with the seam on the roof to quarter panel.

Agreed. A few years back when I shaved off my trunk emblems I wasn't very pleased with the job I did sealing up the holes so I had the trunk wrapped. Looked great for about a year but after the rain we had early this year it started getting streak marks and there was no way to get them out so I peeled it off.
Did you do the whole car ?

It was a 3m brushed aluminum and no, I just wrapped the rear trunk area and front bumper to cover up some sketchy body work. For what I spent I coulda got a cheap respray on the whole car...but I don't want a cheap respray

Anyway, you can tell from this partial image they did a pretty good job, and I'm happy with the way this portion is holding up. I think it has a lot to do with the bumper being a vertical service unlike the trunk which is flat and more prone to sun and rain damage over time. Good luck.

A name brand wrap lasts longer than a couple years, a good plastidip job will go 3 years or more. I would keep looking for a painter. Somewhere out there is a guy who will do it on the side for $1300 cash.
