1996 Lexus LS 400 Looking for new tire recommendations
Hello -
Looked through the forums. Many of the recommended tires are not current. I would prefer a smooth ride. Thank you!

Check this thread... more current.
I've got Pirellis on my 98 and they ride very nice.
Pirelli Cinturato P7 Plus

Most recommend this:
he MXV4 is absolutely the best I've experienced.
But I think Premier is the replacement for that tire IIRC.

I replaced my 6 year old primacy MXV4s with General Atimax RT43's and feel they are just as comfy and way quieter than the 6 year old Michelin's. Great tire

I have the Pirelli P7 PLUS on my w124 and I love them. Very smooth, very quiet.
I put the Primacy MXV4 on my dads LS, but those are discontinued now and replaced with the Premier... Which have good reviews, but I can't get past the 8.5/32nds of tread depth they have from new. I'd prefer something with at least 10/32nds...

Go to Tirerack.com, read the reviews, and choose your tires. Then have them shipped to a local installer that Tirerack has a relationship with.
You'll have more choice, save money and time. Been doing this for 16 years...

Good luck with that. More than likely, they'll try to pawn off one of their off-brand tires on sale.

I've got some Champiro GT Pros on right now and they ride pretty nice. The previous owner put them on, I think they were one of the cheapest ones that Discount Tire sold at $63. But they still have a 40k mile warranty.

Thank you everyone. I ended up getting the Continental True Contact/Control Contact from Discount Tire. The ratings on this for my type of driving were more impressive than the Pirelli for quietness/hydroplaning which are both important to me. Plus they come with a 90k mile warranty.

running an aggressive setup on my LS with 19x10 and 19x11 rears... so i use Falken FK453.. pretty soft and smooth so far.. not the quietest tire i've been on, however not the price of continentals or pirellis either.
