I think 1-st/2-nd generation looks much better than this "Mercexus".

I'll believe it when I see it.
It's hard to imagine Lexus chossing such a large wheel and a lowered suspension for their flagship sedan. Think about the ride quality degredation coming from a 16" or 17" wheel.
In fact, I could imagine this to be more like the new GS.
The drawing looks very 'beta.'

The interior room has to be considerably smaller than the existing LS430. Also the car just looks so lite, so I wouldn't be surprised to see faster accelaration times - even if the 4.3L engine isn't changed.
This drawing is what I'd expect the next generation ES or GS to be or even a Honda Accord . Maybe this redign model will help increase LS430 sales with the dealers willing to deal on price and move inventory for the updated model.

i don't think this is a real pic, what about that black one i posted earlier? that one looks more like the next lex than this one does... i also wonder why the wheelbase is so short, it's like an es wheelbase length. also, what's with the 4.5L engine in the article, why would lexus already throw another engine in there, especially one that is non existant on any other lexus.... the 4.7L engine from lexus is slow, it only has 230 hp or something. but thats cause its made for SUVs. I think this one, along with the other one i posted are probably not going to happen. i wish that we could get some real photos though, like we have of the HPX now. i like looking at the autospies and autofiend pics, but i doubt any of them are real....

I second that motion. The green car has way too much sheet metal changed to be a mid-cycle refresh. Lexus usually changes the lights, bumpers, and other non-sheet metal components during a mid-cycle refresh, and the Celsior 5000GT pic looks plausible. The wheels, while the same style as the current 17's, look huge in that pic, like the design was made into a new 18" wheel.
I could see the green car as being a possible next-gen GS430. It has a common resemblance to the LS and GX, if Lexus is trying to move their cars toward a common theme, this would make sense. Now, Lexus needs a supercharged version to compete with E55, RS6, M5, and S-Type R.
