Default Gen3: Inexpensive suspension upgrades?

I'm looking to upgrade my handling. The car is a mushbox right now (I know, by design). I'd like a little more of a GS400-quality ride: better handling, less dive/squat, less floaty.

The overriding consideration here is "Bang for the buck".

First question: can you put GS400 components in an LS400? That would seem to me to be the least expensive approach. There are totalled GS400's out there with perfectly good springs and shocks in them.

Second question: what else is out there that's not outrageously expensive? Many aftermarket manufacturers seem to think that lexus is spelled "Lexu$"!

Third question: where do I start? Shocks? Springs? Antiroll bars? Braces? or some combination of the above?

Thanks so much to anyone who can help me on this.
