Default 25 Year old ignition system

Had a bit of a hesitation, car has 149k miles. Nothing with the ignition system had been changed. Plugs and cap were very worn, but unremarkable. The rotors were cracked and rather crispy.

Upside: I was able to pull the caps and rotors with removing anything extra, with the exception of loosing the serpentine belt.

Down side: I dropped a distributor bolt into the timing cover. I'll get a flexy magnet tomorrow to see if I can fish it out.

How hard was it taking the spark plugs out? I recently pulled the original plugs out of a 169k mile BMW X5 and it was one of the scarier things I've done on a car. Slow and careful and everything was good.

Amazing how well the original stuff can run if it has to, sometimes.

The plugs are a 30ish minute affair. Not bad at all.

And now the ignition will be set for the next 100K.

Good pics. My goal when wrenching the car is to walk away without any blood loss. I'm successful maybe 40% of the time. I get it in almost the same spot on the thumb somewhere.
