? my ls400 trans issues
 

Hey new to the group my ls400 wont move in any gear besides reverse and for a short amount of time any help would be greatly appreciated

Is the shift linkage OK? If the linkage is bad or inoperative, you may be physically moving the shift-lever into one or more forward gears, but the actual engaging mechanism inside the transmission may not be following suit if the linkage is bad. I'd check that first (or have it checked), before you do anything else.

we would need the year of your LS400, any error codes, and the general condition of the car before we could even begin to guess what the issue is.
