Default Headlight leveling red light on dshbr.d

Ref..98 LEXUS LS 400

Gentlemen,
Need your help here. The red indicator on my dashboard reads:
HEADLIGHT LEVELING.
A sensor may be gone or something
But it is driving me crazy.. I don't know what to do to solve the pblm and the 8 mechanics who have already checked it are at a lost themselves as well.
I really don't care about the headlights being leveled.. Am just annoyed by the red light on my face
all times like that.
Something to disconnect.? Anything
I'd do it.Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Headlight leveling is controlled or affected by the headlight leveling ECU, the suspension ECU and the ABS ECU. This is why an independent mechanic can't fix it (I'm assuming it's not the dealership that's looking at it).

My experience is if it's anything other than a fuse, electrical connection or sensor it's pretty much out of a DIY's hands. Hopefully, someone that has had a similar issue will post.

If the warning is just an indicator light and not the LCD display you could always just remove the bulb from the indicator.I never really notice the leveling system indicator before....

Have you hit any big pot holes lately? Did they check the 2 ride height sensors?http://www.evansweb.info/2009/11/23/...sensor-repair/

Have the headlights been removed recently?

WELL, mine came on a few days ago, and stayed on.. I stopped killed the engine and restarted it and it went off.. next day on again, stopped killed it restarted it and back on.... a little while later, my battery light came on... went home and got my 1.98 lighter plug in that cowboy told us about and saw that my amp output was 12.1.. later that day it was 11.6 and lights still on. took it to Richardson Generator and they took it off cleaned it (the brushes were soaked) put it back on, charged me $100.and sent me home, no more lights on and told me to get my PS leaked fixed or he would see me later....
SO now I need my PS pump fixed..Jon has TB and I cant do any work anymore so Candrell's here I come.. mine has over 200k, should I get a rebuilt or just reseal this one ANY comments??

three things i look for when buying a lexus v8, has to have
no nav (my cell phone has better maps)
,no air suspension( stock shocks are fine as it is)
,no hid ( non hid are just as good).

If one of these options goes out then 10 other things go out with it.

Default Check your battery voltage

Battery voltage below 12.2 v will do this; should be over 12.4 engine off, over 13.5 engine running and lights and AC on.
Billy, if you can't do the PS pum fix yourself, see if your mechanic will just do a seal repair (the large o-ring or the IAC valve cause over 90% of the leaks). Very simple and inexpensive to repair.

I concur. Alternator on its way out. Had this happen last weekend. First the headlight leveling light, then the battery light and then the VSC off light lit up. Shortly after lost power and the battery was dead. I also took mine off and took to Richardson Generator for the rebuild. I'm pretty sure I used the wrong return hose when I installed the PS pump a couple of years ago. Not doing that again. It's the alternator.

that can be pricey at the dealer...but I got it for a good price on eBay and upon replacing it THAT SORRY ***
LIGHT IS NO MORE.FINALLY.long time due.u imagine my delight driving this car again without that red light after so long.
