O2 Sensor Help!
My 96 LS needs a new oxygen sensor (Bank 2 Sensor 2). Does anyone know what brand would be best to buy? I've seen Bosch and Denso online for about 80-90 bucks..
Would it be best to get this done at the Dealer (quoted for about $430 parts and labor), the usual mechanic ($350 parts and labor), or just order it online and have a mechanic that does his own side business install it?

O2 sensor is probably one of the easiest thing there is to do. But there is a catch with the down stream ones. Denso at Rockauto.
You have to pull up the carpet to get to the connector. This is not a lexus in the video but is similar.

i would order the part and install it myself. if you do not have the means to get under the car, get the right part and have a mechanic install it. AVOID the dealer as much as possible since $430 is way too expensive!
denso is the orignal part, and i highly suggest getting the same replacement part. do NOT get a bosch part! i've bought my denso piece on amazon. get the right part number first, and double check it before ordering. there are 4 sensors in the exhaust path, though the pairs are the same (both upstream and both downstream).

This is where the sensor comes into the car. I bought a denso one without the connector when mines went out a couple of years ago. I jacked the car up and spliced the wires then wrapped it up with electrical tape. That was not a good ideal since it eventually came apart and i had to go back under there and fix it properly but it's been good for about 7 years. The one without the connector is cheaper than the one that comes with the connector.

I would do this myself, but between school and work, there really isn't enough time.
So which of these 2 Denso sensors would be best? The price difference is pretty big...
