Default [How] to check long term and short term fuel trims

Do you know of a way to check long term and short term fuel trims on the Gen 1's?
Will a high end scan tool do that on obd1 systems? I have not found any information on it.

Sorry that I don't know the situation there in US. Here in Japan, you need to use a special scan tool manufactured by Denso to measure the fuel trim for older Toyota cars before the S2000 for UCF20/21 and others was released. Both those tools were only sold for authorized dealers though.

The link below may help you some.

title edited, if you have a question for a single person please use the PM feature. Otherwise it's open for all.

Sorry I have done that in the past and I know Yamae prefers to answer questions here. And besides its beneficial to everyone then. I didn't want him to miss the post.

My old as ***** snap on mt2500 scanner shows fuel trims through the odb2 port on my 96, I have never tried the Toyota adaptor but I'm sure it would probably work.

I got one too. It will not communicate on the under the hood data port, but works okay on the inside the car data port. About all it shows is the ECT temperature read out. I really need a new cable for it, do you know where to get them? I think they are DT15.
Oh and you do need the power cable to connect to the battery, I don't know why.
