Lost my 97 LS400 car clicker
First time posing here so I apologize if breaking any posting rules
So recently, I lost my car clicker for my to lock and unlock my car. Since, losing the clicker I have been forced to leave one door open because every time I lock the car doors and use my key to unlock the door, the alarm goes off.
So I have two question. Is it possible for me to buy a new clicker and program it myself for my car? Secondly, if I can't buy a new clicker is there a way I can disable my alarm so it won't go off when I use my keys to manually open my car? It has been pretty embarrassing when the alarm is going off in public and people think that I am breaking into my own car.

Welcome to Club Lexus.
The remote fob is available for sale from the dealer or various online sellers including that auction site. To program the transmitter you will need a master key. If the only key owned is a valet, that will require dealer support for proper programming.
The FOB is FCC ID# is HYQWDT-C
I haven't used the keys in a long spell and the disable routine is out of memory. Unlocking the door with the key should not trigger the alarm. If is does, inserting the key into the ignition cylinder and turning it to on then off will disable it. I'll have to try this to refresh my memory.

hmm have you looked in your users manual to see if you can disarm the security system via the ignition key and maybe a button under the dash? i will check this too when i get into my 97.
there should be a way to simply lock the car without arming the security system. try locking the doors from the inside first then closing shut (lower a window or make sure you have the keys in your hands first). does the alarm still go off when opened with a key?

First off I had no idea what a car clicker was. And if the alarm goes off when opening the door, the problem is the keylock switch. Have you tried the passenger door? I have an LS with a bad driver door key switch and the alarm goes off if I use it.
