Default 1995 LS400 lowbeam bulb replacement pics

This is to clarify lowbeam bulb replacement.
The lowbeam is the upper of the two bulbs.
First remove either the black plastic battery cover on driver side or the air intake and filter if working on the passenger side. After that remove this gray plastic clip.

As you can see in the pic lifting the tab releases the tab from the headlamp housing. As you lift pull the plastic clip toward the inside of the car.

Underneath this clip there is a black rubber seal.
Peel it back to expose the bulb.

Then undo the wire holding the bulb in place.

actually you have it backwards. you should pull off the wiring connector first by pinching it's sides before peeling back the rubber dust boot. peel the boot off, then you can access the bulb release tab (metal spring).

I did adjust the right headlight vertical setting significantly as the bubble was on top of the "D"
The left side was right in the middle already.
I didn't touch the left right settings on either side

Are we talking about the same car?

The huge gray plastic clip(there are 2 pictures of it) holds the black rubber boot from flopping around. The rubber boot (and bulb) cannot be removed with first removing everything on top of them.

What are you trying to say?

i have a 97 and replace my bulbs all too often since i'm using cheap HID kits with defective bulbs.

that gray clip is different from the wiring connector i mentioned. the wiring connector has wires at the end that plugs into the base of the bulb. the wiring connector should be removed first before the gray clip, then the boot can be peeled back to access the bulb.

i'm guessing your wiring connector might be under the boot which is it incorrect. doing so does not give a water tight seal to prevent moisture from entering the lens housing.

Gotcha,
Made this thread because I found zero other threads that mentioned the gray plastic clip and how to remove it.
I spent probably 20 mins carefully tugging on the gray clip at various angles trying to remove it without breaking.

I didn't mention the wiring plug because it just seemed obvious since there is no way it would fit under the black boot.

I removed the wiring connector before removing the gray clip as you can see in the first pic. The connector you see at the bottom of the first pic is the high beam plug.
