it could be the sensor for the factory alarm. What kind of radar detector you have? I have on in my LS but it got disconnected when a shop installed my aftermarket alarm. I am thinking about wiring it up again.

There is no such thing as an OEM radar detector from Lexus (to my knowledge, at least).

Many dealers sold and installed K40 radar detectors as a dealer add-on. The orignal owner of my GS put one in. Here are a couple of threads from folks similar to you that found one in their pre-owned Lexus (like me ... you'll find a link to the owners manual for the K40 in the second thread.

DaveGS4 is right, the K40 is an after-market product not OEM. (Meaning it doesn't come from the manufacture as original equipment like that.)

Lexus and K40 have a contract between them to offer it to their customers as part of the "sales package" on new and pre-owned cars for an additional fee. Someone either comes to the dealership to install it or the dealership sends the car over to an authorized K40 radar installer.

It's just a volume control **** for the K40.
The other **** powers the K40 unit on/off and also should adjust it between city and highway mode.

If it is under the dash to the left of the steering wheel that would be the volume control for you keyless entry system.
