Hi. Im new to this forum, so hopefully this is in the right place.


I have a 1990 2wd Hilux I have recently bought with a 1st gen 1uz. Recently while driving it the earth cable from the battery to the body failed (read; became disconnected) and the motor has now dropped spark on 4 cylinders.
Has anyone had this issue? Earth lead has been replaced.
Have I fried my ecu?
Any help or suggestions would be great. Motor was running extremely well prior to this happening.

It is a good possibility. Double check your ignitor s and ignition coils.

yes i too would check your coils. swap them left to right and see if the problem follows and go from there.
