K Sport UCF20 coilovers on UCF10?
Hey All - There's a set of used K Sport coilovers for a UCF20 on my local CL for a good price. I have a '94 UCF10. From what I understand from searching here, the UCF21 shocks will be longer. I want to lower the car a little, but not slammed like a lot of you guys do, so I'm wondering if they might work. I read some threads where people say they're running UCF20 Megans on UCF10s, and I see ads for some brands that say they fit 89 to 2000. So I'm guessing it all comes down to how long the K Sports actually are. Has anyone run them on a UCF10?
My car currently has the original shocks with 175,000 miles on them, so it needs something pretty badly.
Any insight is appreciated.

don't let one answer ruin your forum experience! i'll try and help as best as i can.
to my understanding ksport coilovers are modelled after UCF10 cars so with that it should fit your UCF10 just fine after a few adjustments in length coming off a UCF20.
most aftermarket china made coilovers are based on UCF10s so most should fit 90-00 cars. tein is the only one i know that has a specific coilover for UCF20 chassis.

And yeah, sorry. I had a stressful day. I don't normally get to bent out of shape about that stuff. If I hadn't explained exactly what I found when I did search, it wouldn't have bugged me so much to see that as the first reply.

Got them this morning. They look great. Seller said they only had a couple thousand miles on them, but who knows? About half what they cost new. So I'm happy. Can't wait to get them on the car!

You bet. Seller didn't have spanners for them, so I ordered some. I have a million projects right now. New house, and the race car needs brakes, but hopefully I'll get up to the shop and get these on before too long.

I got a set of Megans for my 93 that were originally listed for 90-00, but they were not the right length and were not adjustable properly, the rears were too long. They had a very hard ride, and I ended up selling that car.
I have them another chance on my them for my 98 car, it was the same model number however they were no longer listed as being compatible for the 90-94 cars, and I suspect its because they are not compatible. They work night and day better on the newer car compared to the old.
It'll be interesting to see your results.

That is interesting. Well, we'll know for sure, at least with regard to the K Sports as soon as I get some time. I'll be sure to post pics and observations. The K Sports are marked for front and rear, so at least I won't get that wrong. lol
I'm a little worried about the ride quality. I could do with something a bit stiffer than the worn out stock suspension. I'm sure it's better with good shocks. But I don't want to make it too hard. If there's a decent range of adjustment in the dampers, it would be cheap and easy to swap springs.

ride quality is subjective but try it out first and see if you like it as is. these cars are heavy and with the spring rates that come with basic coilovers, i personally enjoy the comfort they give out of the box! of course set the damping to a reasonable level, never at the softest or the hardest.

Hey Timmy! Oh I was very certain they were installed properly, you can't fit them in reverse as the rears as so much longer, the ride was still brutal on the softest setting, maybe I got a bad batch.
the new ones are much better, and have gotten significantly better as I've put more kms on the car, they keep getting softer and matched to the dampening better, (softest setting)
Still has Zero steering feel, but a big improvement over the stock suspension, just need to be matched to a softer sidewall tire.
