Possible coolant leak at rear of engine
Today I hooked up the pressure tester to my cooling system in order to track down the leak I haven't been able to find. Upon raising the front of the car I've found some coolant present on the cross member right behind the oil pan. A picture of where I'm talking about is posted below. I cannot seem to find where the leak is coming from though. Any ideas?

Yeah lots of ideas.
Could be one of the block drains leaking.
Could be the temp control valve above the right hand side valve cover.
Could be the rear coolant manifold.
Could be a heater hose, or some other hose.
Could be a head gasket.
Get some dye from an auto parts place and start looking. At night is the best time.

Seeing as though you lack the basic understanding of proper spelling and punctuation, I'll take whatever you say with a grain of salt.

If this is for sure the problem I'll clean off the old gasket and RTV it back into place.

no comment on sha4000's spelling or grammar? my point was simply if you are (u r) (acronym's not ur strong suit)?
having to get clarification on a "shiny piece"..then its best to let a shop do the work..especially when its concerning a coolant leak..u mess that up and u can and will overheat ur engine. btw lets not get caught up in semantics here..

Python, your original reply was condescending. It implied that just because Shooff didn't know the name of the part, he wouldn't be capable of diagnosing and/or doing the repair himself. I'm not picking on you. Just explaining that your response was insulting. It appeared that you thought his response to you was all about semantics, but it was a defensive response to your unnecessary/unintended insult. Hope this helps you.

Today I took the plate off and cleaned the old sealant from it and the engine. After it was all clean, I applied red RTV which is rated for high heat. I'm letting it dry twenty four hours and then I'll fill the system with distilled water to ensure the leak is fixed. If it is indeed fixed, I'll drain the system and refill it with the proper mix of Toyota coolant and distilled water. I'll update the thread tomorrow, thanks for the help everyone.

lol..ok wasnt intended to be insulting..more sarcastic..the proper procedure would have been to either have a shop pressure test ur cooling system or perform one urself if u have the correct tool..hence my point. anytime someone asks about a shiny piece is like someone describing a noise like the aamco commercials. hope u got it fixed.
