I don't think you'll find a 1998 or 1999 LS 400 Platinum Series, but I could be wrong lol. It was a promotional package that was put together for the 2000 year. The 1998-2000 400's were the same platform basically but it was appearance promotional package partnership sponsored by Amex in 2000 I do believe it is exclusive to this year which will make it harder to find.

The Platinum Series fender badge (1 x 3 inch silver w/ two line black lettering) was also used on the ES300 model. I know because I own a 2000 ES300 Platinum Series.

Yes, I believe you are correct, Platinum Series was for 2000 model year only. I mistakenly thought the Platinum Series extended over several years. I'm not certain, but the Internet seems to make reference to the GS being available as a Plainum Series in 2000 as well. Some confusion also seems to exist between referencing the vehicles as Platinum Series or Platinum Edition as well, just to further complicate matters.
