Default Replaced clockspring in '96 LS, now airbag warning light is on?

Hi, was very pleased to have back my horn and cruise control after replacing the clockspring in my 1996 RHD LS400 (UK model).

The replacement clockspring came out of a 1996 JDM Toyota Celsior.

However now the airbag warning light is always on. Its just a minor annoyance but would be nice to eliminate it.

Would appreciate some help with the following:

1. Could the UK model airbag be incompatible with the JDM Celsior clockspring (but the other functions all work perfectly)?

2 Would resetting the ECU reset the light ie. take off the battery terminals for 30 minutes or so?

3. Otherwise, how do I reset the warning light?

Many thanks in advance

I would suggest disconnecting the neg battery cable to reset the ECU. If the airbag light comes back on, recheck the connectors under the dash and those near the steering column.

Sorted. Turns out the replacement clockspring was the problem plus my old clockspring was fine.

There were 2 wires on the right side of the steering that had been cut somehow. I replaced them and used the old clockspring and horn and cruise worked fine.

Thanks for posting back. What was wrong with the replacement clock spring? Wrong size...etc.

Looks exactly the same but kept making the airbag light turn on. I guess its either incompatible with a UK-market LS400 or damaged somehow (it came from a salvaged Japan-market Celsior).
