removed air suspension - funny noise
I recently purchased a used '98 LS400. The car originally came with air suspension, but according to its maintenance history the air system was replaced by lexus in favor of a traditional shock/struts a few years back.
Now, sometimes when I start the car, I hear a low hum of an electric motor. If I flip the air suspension switch on the center console the sound goes away. After a few seconds the hum comes back, and I can flip the switch again to turn it off. The response of flipping the switch and stopping the hum is instant. There is definitely a direct correlation.
After driving down the street for a block or two I don't notice the hum noise anymore. Sometimes after not hearing the humming upon startup, I pull up to a stop sign and the hum noise starts.
My question is, what is causing the hum noise and is there a way to permanently shut it off? It's annoying to have to deal with the extra noise almost everytime I turn the key. I've attached a video that will hopefully help to make my issue clear.

The dealer didn't do a good job.
Check the fuse "40A H/CTRL" behind the battery. You don't need it any more.
There is one more fuse to remove under the dash. I don't know how it is named in English but it must be named "15A Air Suspension" or something.
Those 2 fuses should be removed otherwise the pump motor works as well as messages related to air suspension appear.
