91 LS 400 Sight Glass
 
My 1991 LS 400 converted to 134a is working fine....I am seeing oil leaking from the seal of the sight glass...Have looked thru the threads and have not seen anything similar...Has anyone repaired or replaced the sight glass? thanks. Jeff

Anybody ever repair or replace the sight glass near the condensor on the passenger side,,,I noticed mine was leaking around the seal of the glass...I bet im the only one who this has happenned to...thank, jeff

You have to replace the whole unit, look for at junkyard, pick and pull and of course eBay.

It's a drier. Junkyard units are junk because if they get any moisture in them they're toast. A new unit is actually not that much on rockauto, but you will need to have an AC shop replace it for you so you don't commit a misdemeanor (venting refrigerant into the atmosphere) and can vacuum the system clean before replacing and refilling.

I had the drier replaced 2 weeks ago but only the aluminium cylinder,,,,I saw a sight glass when the drier was replaced and wondered why Lexus would hide the glass under the headlight...Then i saw there was another sight glass next to headlight....that whole unit is replacable? It starts at drier and terminates? thanks guys.....
