Default Just bought a 94' LS, have lots of questions, one important one

Hey everyone! I just recently bought a 93 LS. I love the car and cant wait to get it to where I want it however unfortunately the previous owner took terrible care of this car and I have some work cut out for me. The car is on megan coils and bmw style 95 wheels. Theres a bunch of problems that I need to address. The very first thing that i noticed is the PO put in a pioneer double din stereo. The stereo turned on but the sound did not work so I decided to pull the dash apart and take a look. what I found was an absolute clusterf***. Every single wire in the dash has been cut and spliced with cheap crappy wire crimps, about a quarter of them werent even hooked up and a large number of them pulled apart way to easily. I have managed to fix most of the hvac wiring with good quality crimps and heat shrink( i know i should be soldering them and i will at some point). There are two wires that i cant dont have an obvious coresponding wire, im assuming they must be doubled. And finding any wiring diagrams for this car seems to be pretty impossible. My question for you lovely folks is can you tell me what the two wires, one orange and one purple and white, go to? also I have no idea how to hook up this stereo, if anyone could point me in the direction of a wiring harness for the stereo system i would love it. Thanks for the help in advance, more questions will follow.

I would go to the junkyard and get a unmolested harness. A lot of work but if you want to correct all the problems, the best way to go.

That's a good idea. The junk yards in my area are terrible but I will see if I can find one with an LS

You bought it in california so im not surprised its abused. Ray bought one in CA too and it is an absolute pile... and his is newer!

So the important question for you. Because I have every wiring diagram available for the car. Is it a Pioneer radio car, or a NAK premium sound one?

how do you determine if it's nak or pioneer if the car came with an aftermarket HU? i suppose look at the amp under the pass seat to see any markings?

Timmy beat me to it. excuse my ignorance about this platform as this is my first lexus. How do I go about seeing which one i have if the car came with an aftermarket head unit and all the plugs have been cut off and spiced into? I very much appreciate you hooking me up with the diagram and I hope you have the one for the hvac unit as well as it is hot as hell where I live and I deperately need to get the AC sytem back up and running.

If the amp is still under the passenger seat it will be marked as Pioneer or Nakamichi.

The amp is probably in the trunk behind the cd player.

the factory amp is covered, right on top of a vent under the pass seat. you might have mistaken it's existence.

for a 95-up but same principle!
