Default What is this? A/C condensation

Alright, so I pulled in tonight and noticed this under my car once I came back out. I knelt down and smelt this fluid and it was clear, didnt feel oily and smelt like nothing. I think it was just water but does anyone know what else this could be or is it for sure just condensation or something?

I drove home with the heat on 76 and the AC button on. Is this why she is dripping?

2000 LS400 105,000 miles.

It looks the right side has more coming out than the left side.

Help.

Yeah, it's from the AC system. Mine does it as well.

It looks like it just water from the A/C system. If it is clear and odorless, it is mostly likely >90% just water. I wouldn't worry about it. If you want to make sure for yourself, pop your hood and do a quick smell test of all fluids, noting color and fill levels. Then smell the fluid on the ground again. You should then be able to tell if you have a fluid leak or if the fluid on the ground is just water.

That is a lot of water... but the two spots underneath is typical of condensation dripping off the AC system. We see that a lot in Texas. Not sure you should see that much in California though... That is a lot... you could prove it by driving around without the AC and see if you still have the water. But I doubt you will.

I would not worry that's just condensation from the AC.

Yes, based on location, that is exactly where the AC Evaporater drain hose is. Definitely water.

It is actually good to see that, since it shows your drain hose is not clogged up. That is a lot of water, but could be normal, based on humidity, etc.

Alright thanks everyone. Nothing leaks when the AC is off. I had the temp set to 76 maybe thats why there was so much water because it was in the 50s outside. I smelt it a few times just to be sure and it was infact odorless so I;m not too worried.

Thanks for the help
