Is it the Headlight Bulb or Lamp?
It's been a long time since I've posted, but I ran into a problem that I'm having with my 98 LS. I have the auto leveling HID headlights. Recently, the drivers side low beam stopped working (although the high beam still works). I replaced what I thought was a bad bulb but apparently that bulb is only for the high beam.
I took the headlight unit out to access the back of the unit without removing the battery. I saw that there are two "caps" that you can turn to unscrew. The one with the light that is out has a metal cover underneath the cap. Before I went any further I decided to stop and ask questions on the forum.
Can anyone tell me what needs to be done/replaced to get the low beams working again?

Yours is technically a 4 headlight system. The high and low beams are two separate bulbs. If you have HID lights, then the high beams will be regular light bulbs, and then you will have the special HID bulbs for the low beams.

yes the HID bulbs are behind a cover which you need to unscrew at the back of the headlight. the bulb is a D2R size bulb. get any temperature rating you like but OEM is 4300k. better to stick to OEM brands like philips or osram but will cost a little bit more than the off-brand stuff. they should be available everywhere, even at autozone or pepboys!
