Default New to the Lexus world- need adivce - buying.

Hello everyone, this is my first post. i am coming for a e46 enthusiast.

i owned a 330ci 2003, and now i have taken interest in an ls400.

love the way it looks, the way it sits, the luxury it has, the way its soo smooth, so quite. I love cars that drive like it.

i have 2 options after searching the market where i live for an ls400, mind the market here is flooded with Lexus cars, infact they are one of the most used cars here. (dubai).

before i start, i want a black ls400, with a screen and dark interior color.

my first option is a an ls400 1998 (8167$) this is the link for pictures http://dubai.dubizzle.com/motors/use...F1dG9fYWdlbnQ9

my other option is this black (7623$) http://abudhabi.dubizzle.com/motors/...udD0%3D&pos=11

now i duno what to look for, and what to inspect. so i need your help before i take a look on both. what i should watch out for. and other recommendations you would like to add.

my budget is 8000$ give or take a hundred or 2 hundred $.

highly suggest a 99-00 US model year car. avoid navigation since it's very outdated and not handy at all.

things to look for are front strut rod bushings which wear out at around 100-150k. signs include clunks from front suspension and uneven tire wear. also timing belt/water pump replacement which should be done every 90k miles.

98 options became standard in 99. Drl, hid, wood grain steering wheel etc.

aftermarket navigation is ok as long as it's installed properly. low miles is relative. most folks here are around 200k miles already with no adverse problems. it really all depends on previous ownership and maintenance work.

here is a link to show the progression of years on the LS400.

2000 also gets brake assist (BA) and has a slightly smaller fuel tank than previous cars for some reason and has slightly lower performance numbers to the 98 and 99... 98 is the first year of the revised model, so by the time the 99 model came along they had some time to work out some of the kinks. 99 also just rolls off the tongue the easiest
