Post Power Steering leak comedy of errors

Hi all, I have a 1996 LS400 191K.

Last week I noticed the car was leaking PS fluid from the area of the AVC valve. I replaced the
"O" ring on the pump reservoir a few months back so I assumed the AVC was the problem.

I removed the valve and modified it as shown in one of the threads here. When I replaced it I believe I ran it back in too far. Needless to say, it still leaked. Looking back I may of not had enough Teflon tape on the threads. Tonight I took it back off, wrapped more tape on it but was unable to get it started back in the pump, I must have screwed up the threads somehow. I eventually get it started but the more I tightened it the more it becomes apparent it's crossed threaded. It looks like a reman pump is in my future.

On top of that, as I am tightening the AVC back in, I created an arc with the wires attached to the alternator-----I know, I should have disconnected the battery. The car will start, but it has no dash lights, wont shift out of park, no electric locks and I assume many other things. Out of frustration I just shut the hood and walk away.

Can one of the experts here point me to what I fried,, fuse or otherwise?

On edit, I see someone did the exact thing recently. Will check what was advised in that thread.

Sorry for the problems... we've all been there in some form or fashion at one time. Hope it gets resolved soon. Good luck.

It was the 120 amp alt fuse. And like many other things on this car, it was not easy to change either.

I also punted the steering pump r/r to a local shop. If I had a lift I would have done it.

Yeah the hardest part is trying to separate the plastic clip. It gave me fits.
