I checked see what it fits, and apparently there was a part number change for the second generation LS's.
The same 95+ later LS400 ignition module matches the one used in the 92+ SC400s, so it MAY work... then again, it may not. I wouldn't mix any sort of the engine control system from a 1st or 2nd generation together, since they made so many changes to EFI system and the engine

The spark plug gap for a 94 is 0.8mm and 97 1.1mm. The ignition system is redesigned and there is no direct compatibility.

As far as I investigate, the design change was applied to the production on August 1996.
