consistant driver foglight dies

as the title says, I have put 3 bulbs in the driver side fog light over the past 4 months. It burns out really quick, but the passenger one I have not had to touch.... what the stuff man? connector looks dirty, but the light works, both lights work, switch works, everything works, it just burns out in a few weeks.... How can I fix this so I can stop buying fog light bulbs?

u must have a grounding issue...

But would that not cause it to pop instantly? The bulbs dont have polarity, but if its grounding out it will pop the bulb right away right?

well either the socket itself is bad or theres a wire that's grounding out. what else could it be? if there is a wire that has a bare spot it could be that it only makes contact or shorts out intermittently. just tossin it out there. what is the number of the bulb?

A bad ground would usually make the fuse blow long b4 it would cause a bulb to burn out prematurely.. That is if the correct amp fuse is in place and by some miracle the wiring wasn't set on fire.

I would guess it would be a bad socket before anything else especially seeing as to how the passenger side is just fine. Fairly cheap, easy to replace. But the very first thing to do if you haven't already is to clean the socket, coat the new bulb in dialectic grease. If that doesn't work, spring for a new socket.

The bulb is a H3C, its for a '93...

I will try cleaning the socket... worst case i convert it to a bulb that autozone doesnt want $28 a piece for...... I had to order a box of these from rock auto to get a good deal. $5 a bulb and 8 bulbs.....

The contact resitance often kills the bulb because of the generated heat. You'd better check the resistance.
