Default Improving the look of a worn steering wheel

'99 '400. Some of the grey leather surface has worn away near where the leather meets the wood. The black "under-surface" of the leather is showing. Is there something I can paint this black area with to restore the look of the wheel?
If not paint, I'm open to suggestions though hopefully some application of reasonable "permanence".

Thanks in advance.

I saw in one of the hot-rod garage show that Duplicolor now have a paint that seems to work on vinyl and fabric so IDK for the steering leather.

lchouinard many thanks that's a great product, as demonstrated. Something to think about for sure. About to look into its suitability for leather.

When I had a mobile paint guy paint the bumper on the back he also was able to mix up paint to redo the steering wheel...year later, still looks/works great.

Thanks Legender. My back bumper has a couple of tiny chips on it where someone in the past has either parked by ear or reversed over something and scratched it. Maybe I can kill one bird with two stones having these things seen to.

I came across Colorbond when researching Duplicolor, another good product going by YT videos.
