LS400 Cabin Air Filter and No more smoke smell!!!
So I just bought my 98 LS400 and it had a bit of a smoke smell to it the my wife with a Blood Hound nose could smell. So I thought I would share a few things I did to get rid of the smell!! Some people don't know about this filter and I didn't see a post for LS400 so thought Id share.
First Replace the Cabin Air Filter
Got Mine at Oreilly Auto for $20, anything is better than a dirty one!!
Majority of car CAF are located behind glove box, this is by far the easiest I have ever changed
Just pull little flap straight up
release the 2 clips on the bottom
Drop Filter down unless yours is so bad that it fell down!!
Old FILTER!!! OMG!
This particular filter can only go in one way, but you want air flow arrows pointing down and holder arrow pointing up
Make sure to push filter up
I also did a Duct cleaner, Baking Soda for carpets, Oder Eliminator for Head liner
Just Follow instructions on can, intake vent in on passenger side under hood
I sprayed in all vents even the Ball Vent
and under seats

The air flow does blow up but, like I said, the filter has them strips that don't allows you to put it in one way, lol unless I was suppose to peel them off, and I have seen other installs on other car and they did the same way as well.

yeah, you spray the cleaner in the coil as well and it seemed to do a great job, but if it comes back I will have to try the clorox
