California LS400 in SoDak emissions question.
This all started with research on replacement of the lower EGR tube and how it differs with a CA car, which is where information gets a little bit scarce. I think I have decided to fab up a block for the lower end against the exhaust and leave the rest intact for simplicity sake and in case I ever need to reverse it. As far as I can tell there would be no harm to the engine from doing this as it appears the EGR valve is closed after warm-up anyhow. Do I understand this correctly?
The second part of this CA emissions bit is where I recall all the other vehicles I had with power/MPG robbing CA specific emission systems in place. Is there anything on the CA smogged LS400 that can be deleted/bypassed to place it on par with a non CA model, or is there really any significant difference?
Thanks!
