My '93 has a high level of wind noise - above 50 mph. All the door seals are in good condition and the doors all fit well and close properly. The noise seems to come from the base of the windscreen - does anybody else have this problem or any ideas - I can't see any missing or damaged seals under the bonnet? The car has done 80,000 miles.

my 99 has windscreen noise. After an aftermarket glass was put in I was disappointed with all the wind noise. It bothers me alot! Next crack I get I am going to try and find a better glass.

I get noise from the same area with the original OEM glass. when I inspect the seal at the top of the glass it seems like age is the culprit.

Little things can make a loud difference in these cars I think.
I was driving home two nights ago when my LS developed a strange flapping wind noise from the front.
The noise was not too loud, but rritating nonetheless. I thought maybe a bolt fell out of my underbelly pan.
When I parked and walked around , there was a piece of 8.5 x 11 printer paper folded over a slat in my grill.
My car does a pretty good job with wind noise and road rumble. But the tire noise still makes its way into the cabin and bothers me.
I may add some closed cell foam and MLV someday. The car is already 3,800 lbs, what's another hundred or so, right?

What is MLV?

Mass Loaded Vinyl.
It is a sheet material commonly used for sound deadening.
Heavy, but not as heavy as what was used in years past, which was lead.
In order to isolate the MLV from noise vibrations, MLV is best used on top of a layer of closed cell foam.

Crap, I need a new windshield.

Any input on what windshields to avoid?

I have my headliner out right now and I keep thinking of adding some extra foam or something. I already added a box of Dynamat to the floor and behind the back seat when I had the carpet out but my noise comes from the top of the windshield.

Bringing this somewhat dated thread back for a quick question.

I have a 95 and it seems wind noise has gotten much louder overnight. I never really took sound measurements but I never really noticed it until the last few nights when it really became apparent.

Could something have just "happened?" Does heat make any difference? It has been very hot lately in my area of the northeast.

Was it windy outside?
Had this issue last sunday, we were driving 110-120kmh and wind noise was horrible in the morning (wind was 30kmh, gust to 50), but on the way back in the evening same speed was much quieter and there was only a breeze outside when we left.

So my guess is just the outside wind that added up some more drag and was like driving 140-150

Actually it was a pretty still night, I didn't really notice any wind. I will pay more attestation later when I drive and see, or rather hear, how it is.

the accord is made with less sound deadening on purpose, to give feedback to the driver. of course this always means a louder cabin, which amounts to a lot of complaints i read and experience regarding honda and acura cars. drive a camry of the same generation and you'll see (rather hear) a huge difference, though i feel the car is more numb when more silent.

back to the subject, wind noise cannot change overnight unless a seal or gap was widened, or as mentioned there is more cross wind.
