Default love this car!

Did my usual 650 mile round trip MI to toronto this weekend. I usually average 9.5L/100 km there and 9L on the way back. Avg around 115-118 kph.

This time, kept it just a hair under 110, 8.5 there 8 back. WOOP!
I also put on new tires, corrected the rear toe to almost zero (had 1 cm toe in before ! 0.0) and ride lower (ls460 front bumper sitting 2" from the ground. Makes a nice air dam-nascar style!)

8l/100 km is 29 mpg for the american folks, dang! this is from the computer readout and verified at the pump. (ok fine 8.2 hand calc..)

Excellent mpg numbers. New tires may have helped also. Can't knock that from a V8....

are you using imperial or US gallons? ie- did you fill-up in canada or in the states?

29mpg (imp. gal) comes out to ~24.148mpg (us gal.) which seems more on par for a modified 2LS with heavy wheels.

24 mpg sound more like it, was using imp gallons before, but when i put in 24 mpg calc is showing 9.8l/100.
Base calcs done in litres and kms. Lows 8s is very nice for a 4.0 with 3600 lbs!

im also very convinced the 460 bumper and riding low have a big effect on drag. Not much room in th ewheel arches for turbulence, and a big cause of drag is the turbulance cause by air going under the body. My front bumper is approix 2.5" off the ground and covers the entire front tire. Slowing down to ~110 has an effect on reduced drag vs 120 kph/.

yessir, the inner tie rods were going out. There was no in out play when shaking the wheel but they were extremely loose radially. Didnt hold their position at all. Swapped em, put on 2k miles and tires still look great. (id sure hope so!)
