Default The LS does drive pretty nice

The past two weeks I've been driving dad's '08 Corolla around. He surrendered his license following a stroke so his car has basically been sitting since November. The usual routine is to start it up then drive it around the block. That isn't enough so the car has seen longer runs. I was becoming used to it and thought "it wasn't THAT bad." Since the Westminster meet was today, the LS was driven . There was no mistake why I preferred the well aged Lex over his Corolla.

Sloppy worn bushings and all, the LS feels much nicer. When getting on the gas, there is no buzzing bee as it accelerates. The Corolla isn't that slow but the engine noise is not pleasant sounding. The Corolla suspension is stiffer than the LS even. I'd buy it for local errands, just don't know if that is the type of commuter car desired in spite of the MPG it returns.

I've driven the newer corollas and they are not too bad to get around. Not enough power for highway runs for me though.

Had a Corolla when the Lexus was in the shop for Timing belt at Davenport Auto, here in Dallas. They provide free loan cars... not a Lexus that's for sure. Felt very cramped and underpowered... happy to get the Lexus back.

I've driven a ton of cars over my years as a tech and I have to say, short of of the big German barges, nothing really feels like an LS.... I always thing about what my next car is going to be and right now it seems to be a late ls430 or early 460 that will be more of a show car, but as a little daily I have no idea what I'd want now that I have been spoiled by the LS.

At the moment, the only cars that really catch my interest are the Ford Fiesta ST or the Fiat Abarth, but neither of those are that nice/cheap... May as well get into a nice used CT200h to pay with.... But they are just expensive hybrid corolla hatchbacks... Maybe in 4-5 years when I give up on my 400 more and better options will be available.
