Default Looking to do something with my exhaust

So I want to make my 97 LS sound a little louder, so that you can tell that theres a V8 under there. The current plan is to remove the center resonator, and the next two mufflers, replace the back two with turbo or high flow mufflers. Any reasons why this might not be a good idea? or recommendations?

There's a whole exhaust thread to help you out.

Pfucterpus - start by removing the last to mufflers and see how you like it. I rushed and got the exhaust don't right away and I regret it, kinda. get a nice set of quality wheels and lower your car first. I mean, why draw attention to a car rolling on stock wheels at stock higth. that is kinda ricerish if you ask me.

ok. as long as your happy with it then its all good. I still suggest rust removing the rear mufflers first. if you like that just have some axle back pipes made for about $100-$150 and your good to go.

If you are looking for a baller JDM axel back system from Aimgain for a legit VIP build, I know a set stateside....

If I were you, I'd just disconnect the rear mufflers and fire it up. Either that's too much noise, put on a couple of magna flows and call it a day; just right, so just run some pipe to the back; or not enough, and then you can disconnect at the merge and decide the same way and then again at the cats if it's still not enough...
Should take you less than an hour to sort it out.

I removed all four mufflers off my 96(I only have the cats now) and I absolutely love the growl.

Here's a vid of it.

With the windows up you can still barely hear it. Soundproofing in this car is amazing. If it's too loud for your taste I would suggest doing what the others said and try removing just the rear mufflers first. Then go from there.
