Lets play the what would you pay game!
Going to look at this car. If it is in good shape with no rust what would you pay? 5500 seems way to high for a 97. Let me know your thoughts. See link below.

I wouldn't drive an hour round trip without even being able to see that it has a front bumper. If they want your money, they can take five minutes to provide reasonably sized photos of the whole car.

some people just don' t know how to advertise... nor how to take pictures...
I'd call and get some specifics before I head out... you should have a list of standard questions you'd ask to make sure you're not wasting their time or yours...
1. any accidents
2. non - smoker
3. how long have you owned?
4. maintenance history including the big things, where serviced and get VIN to check lexus.com
5. Why are you selling it?
6. Anything on the vehicle you know that does not operate/work as it should?
7. clean title? and do you own it?
I'd start with those and go from there.
I'd say work him down to under $5k if you can, if the car is clean, no rust, no accidents and you like what you see.

Yeah, $5500 would be for a pristine in and out, one owner specimen with 100k, full service documentation and totally upto date service, 100% stock and no claims history of any kind.
Even at 100k and upto date service, it probably still needs ~$500-1000 worth of chassis maintenance for what YOU want to use the car for..... Unless you plan to go fully adjustable arms with your build.... Then no more than $400 worth of chassis maintenance.

Many people are just lazy in taking pictures in ads, it would be worth it if the car is clean, older person maybe, or someone who wants money quickly, I've seen lots of deals on stuff that have horrible ads, thats like 90% of people, just call and ask some questions on the condition, you'll get an idea of who owns it and if its worth your time or they'll take an offer on it.

bad listing..the person hasn't a clue on how to market his car that's for sure, but with only 138,000 on the clock and the interior is nice looking..it may be worth a short trip to go see it, or ask for more pics when u contact him/her. theres a lot of unanswered questions..maint. records..example..timing belt been done? if no proof then it hasn't been. also rust? boston area is prone to snow and we all know what that means...
