Update on the crusher saved 93 LS

Checked the MAF, not the issue so thought I would take a shot at the easiest of the potential fixes I listed, changing out the coils (well easy until I swapped the drive side )

In any event, first replaced the center coil since its a snap to change, started it up and WOW it runs like a new car (engine wise). Took her out for a test drive and what normally took - literally - 2 to 3 mins to get to highway speed, took the normal few seconds. Great acceleration, motor purred and also - very oddly - my fuel gauge now seems to work

Even though it was probably not bad, went ahead and replaced the driver side coil - NEVER AGAIN - lol that was a bear to get to. Also swapped out the engine coolant temp sensor.

Still have a ton of work on this reclamation project (suspension, brakes, a little body work) but the engine and transmission seems to work like new. Since this is the 8th of my cars, no rush its just a fun project. Even more enjoyable when you make progress!

Thanks for everyone's assistance (especially drifter!) Best forum on the planet

I know Cowboy and Drifter will shoot me for not getting Denso parts but as I stated this car was almost given to me and is simply a project so I did not want to spend what amounted to 5-6x for the OEM product... in my lovely 96? you bet... but not this project.

I ended up using a set of Beck Arneys for around 25.00 each, as opposed to Bosch that were right at 100 each or Denso that were even more. They work great, probably wont last 21 years like the originals did but I am OK with that.

Whatever works for you and if it last 5 years it was a good buy IMO.
