it is possible but keep in mind that car has an immobilizer which will need to be defeated for the remote start to work. i've seen folks hide a key near the ignition to do this (for example). it all depends on how good and knowledgeable the installer is.

Wait so Timmy, you're saying, either way with a remote start, i'm likely to lose a key?

you may or may not lose the key. it was just an example of how it was defeated on a car (is300). it all depends on the installer. i'm simply making you aware that the car has an immobilizer that you have to get around to make a remote start work.

Wait, what's with this thread? The title and first post are asking about where to get cheap wheels, but after that it's talking about remote starters?

Haha yeah, I originally asked a question about remote starters, then edited it because I believe I found my answer elsewhere. I was gonna delete the thread but I dont think I can, so I changed the question. But by that time, he had responded to the original question.

Start another thread asking about the wheels. Will change back to the original title so that otherss can reference it on future searches.

I have a DEI manufactured 2way alarm with remote start. I haven't figured out or looked into bypassing the factory immobilizer. It does start if you have a key near the key cylinder though.

Alright, that makes sense. Just making sure my computer wasn't mixing different threads around!

You can get a immobilizer bypass.
I installed one on my 2000. I think the bypass was a xpresskit pkall or something like that.

You wire into the code wires from the immobilizer receiver and put a key in the ignition and the bypass box learns the code.

Then when you remote start the car the box throws the code out to the factory receiver and makes it think there is a key.

If you want more info I can see exactly what I bought and where the wires went.
