please read my extensive thread on failing ECU capacitors - very common on your year!

another problem area is Idle Air Control Valve

please attempt to download the diagnostic codes following the instructions here

and by the way, even with a bad ECU, you would still like have either fuel or spark or both - please provide us with a bit more specific information on how you have come to the conclusions that you have neither fuel nor spark!

Came to this cunclusion by putting a spark plug into each plug wire and leaning it against metal.. no arc.. checked at the coil, no arc..
Fuel pump kicks and has pressure... but using a noid light determined that none of my injectors are firing

If I am supposed to have a bad ECU and still have fuel and spark it would run...

also checked CMS and CKS both reading exactly as they should from specs seen..

Default Probably been addressed but here is goes.. remember I'm new lol

ok so besides my ECU (figers crossed) issue, my instrument cluter nor hvac/radio backlights work.. the gauges seem to work but no lighting, same with the radio and hvac controls..

upon initial key turn the needles on the cluster will light up then go out.. the dash and hvac controls never light up.. i got the car for what i thought was a pretty good deal.. but with the issues im having im thinking i screwed up..

please do the 30 second test at 5:53 in this video below

that will check your igniters, coils, and the associated wiring

if that is OK, then check fuel pressure on rail

new caps, rotors, plugs and wires are always a good plan, use the real Toyota caps and rotors, and either Denso or NGK on the plugs and wires - the plugs and wires are cheap at amazon.com and rockauto.com
