Thumbs up Buying a donor car for my LS400

So, the past few months I have been having this inner conflict on whether to sell my 93 LS400 and get something newer but have finally decided that I am going to keep it and buy a donor car and use it to make my car 100% perfect or as close as I can get it. My car runs good but by no means is it fantastic. I have some interior issues, door panels are beat up and leather is beyond repair. Also needs some engine work but all things I can do myself.

Anyways, my question is this: Will 91 and 92 parts be the same as my 93? I know that some parts do but I want to be sure since it will be a donor car. I will of course look for a 93 primarily but in the event I find a 91 or 92, I want to know if I can go with that and be fine. And my other question, how well do the SC300/400 match up for parts?

Around Orlando I see fair condition LS400's pop up for 1K or less. And I would prefer to have a donor car anyways so that I can go back and take parts off it anytime I need to.

Thanks in advance guys!

I think a lot of the wiring was changed for 93. I had a 90 and got seats from a 93 and the wiring harness was different.

Yes, the wiring was changed in August 92 due to the change of the engine management. Cold start injectors were added. O2 sensors were changed to the built-in heater type. There were some minor changes too.

Okay gotcha, I didn't know that, maybe I will just try to get a 93 because I am going to need some items that include harnesses. Thanks guys.
