Default Audio slightly upgraded - happy ending

just upgraded my audio system at very reasonable cost but very good outcome. here is how:

- change stock nak HU to JVC KD-X50 BT

stock nak HU has 4 x 20W max speaker output while this HU produces 4 x 50W max (20W RMS): so double the power

keep rear pioneer door speakers and nak sub amp and sub woofer speaker

- replace front door pioneer speakers with a pair of Alpine-SPS-410-2-way-4-Inch

same diameter, just need a little handy man to fit it into OEM speaker

Sound quality is a world difference. very cost effective option, recommended. hope this helps.

(sorry my car is ls400 1990)

How easy was it to keep the factory amp/sub with the new headunit? Did you splice or use an adapter?

it was quite easy as long as you have access to JVC HU installation manual (comes in package) and wiring diagram of stock HU.

I needed to splice the car wiring to keep stock amp/sub. about 10+ wires needed to be spliced including amp control, signal wires to amp and to door speakers, ant wire, and battery/ ACC wires.

I am not good at wiring but it took me only about 2 hours to get the great sound out from it including soldering the wires together for better quality

i can attache the wiring diagrams here if anyone needs it.
