Default 1Uz Oil Pump, Wrong O-Ring?

Right, so i am completely re-doing a 1uzfe engine from a 97 ls400.

i purchased a gasket set from ebay ....and it came with of a load of O-rings..

i removed and re-sealed the oil pump/front cover. between the cover and block there is an O-ring that seals the main oil gallery that runs down center of the block.

I took what seemed to be the correct size 0-ring from the set and fitted it on the block...as the block is grooved for the ring, not the cover....

the o-ring fit perfectly on the outside edge of the block groove, but had a small gap on the inside...i figured once compressed it would fill the slight gap....but now i am second guessing myself..and its worrying me.

i shoud have just bought the original one from lexus...as i dont want to have to take it all apart again!

does anyone have a picture of the o-ring installed on the block?

I've done the Ebay gasket sets before, but it was for Subaru. I had real good luck with them.
If that oring was the only choice in the kit and it stuck above the groove about .007 or more it should be fine. Its better to have it fit like you described than to contact the inside.
