Brake Squeak Noise and Shim Kit
Last time when I did the front brake job, I removed all of 3 anti squeal shims because they were so rusty. I have applied some brake grease on the back of the pads. They were OK but had little bit of problem with a squeal noise only in summer time and I was able to live with that. I am debating weather to buy the kit and put them on for the next brake job this time around. Another extra $30 or so for the brake job. I did the same thing for the rear and no problem there. Any opinion on weather I should use the kit or not? Anyone had success without using the kit or using old rusty ones? Is there a workaround?

if you want your car to be classy and quiet like an LS400 should be, buy the real factory shims at the dealership - use an online dealership like Sewell or Lexus of South Atlanta or Park Place or Lexus Parts Now to get a 25% or more discount! - also check ebay for the real Toyota shims new in a box that someone ended up not installing because they sold the car.
