1UZ-FE Spark Plug Wires
All,
If anyone got a set of used/broken/not working spark plug wires out of a 1UZ-FE, I would like to take if off of your hand for a small project purposes. I'm thinking about trying to see if there is a wire set out there intended for other cars that our cars can use, thus, we can get cheaper replacement and/or upgrade. Thanks guys.

Spark plug wires...
O'Reilly and/or Autozone carry plug wires for 1st gen LS400. I replaced a set of these about a year and 1/2 ago on my friend's car. Everything fit perfect thought there were no wire #ID (cylinder ID) printed on the wires as with OEM wires. Price? I don't remember for sure but it was something between $40/$50 - the normal price for wires set. So far so good here with him, no complaint.

Well, actually I'm trying to get upgrade instead of just replacement, sorry. Unwilling to pay the premium for Magnecor and a big fans of MSD Super Conductor (50 ohm/ft and yes, it has EMI and RFI suppressions), I'm trying to see if there is a premade set that will fit. Otherwise, my other option is to buy bulk MSD SC and send it to Magnecor to put the boots/terminals on.

wires' diameter?
Most custom/after market wires are thick with large diameter. How do you plan to resolve this issue? I noticed OEM wires are even thinner than usual in order to fit into those narrow wire slots/runners. At the moment, I am not quite up to the idea of taking off the engine + wires' covers just to fit bigger wire sets.

Usually the OEM wire separators are not used anymore, but there should be about enough room just to contain the wires. If the wires touching each other (damn, that sounds bad) or the engine block concerns you, you can use universal wire separators but the extra thickness of the wires should provide enough arc-over protection.

May not fit...
Well, even without the wire separators, I really doubt that they will fit those slots. Next, you will have to deal with the rotors connection side of the wires in both sides of the engine... Currently, OEM wires or OEM replacements wires barely have enough room to clear the timing belt just right below (also in both sides). By the way, the platic timing belt covers (on both sides) were also made to fit OEM size wires. The only way I can see that that can be done is the "ghetto" way, expose and take all the covers off like the younger folks did with their civic/integra...
