my favorites are the factory pad the car came with - they last like a crazy amount of miles like 70K or even 80K making the best pads also quite the bargain, and completely silent!

PS - the OEM is Sumitomo and the pads are made special for LS400 - no OE equivalent

i'm a fan of axxis deluxe ceramics for a simple OEM+ upgrade.

EBC Reds for anything above that.

i got my ceramic pads from advance and am very happy with them. i put 50-75 miles on my LS mon-fri. no noise at all. they didnt have ceramics for the rear so i had to use semi-metallic those dont make any noise either.

Same here, no noise. I've had them on for almost 4 years, 41k miles. Fronts are about down to half and the backs look barely touched. Although, I do ALWAYS downshift the car so I guess I use less brakes then most people.

blkstealthpaid4, Did you change over the shims on the pads?

I *think* my dad got "Red Stuff" pads for my car. I kind of liked my squeaking though... it was like a ship leaving port whenever I left
