if you run a trans cooler there should be no ill effects. The fluid will actually run slightly cooler in day to day driving because the trans isn't slipping between shifts as much (which generates more heat).

modded valve bodies when purchased alone are quite expensive.

Hit the nail on the head PD! I have plans to purchase a cooler in the near future because I also want to run a bigger stall. It's funny that a lot of people automatically think because it shifts hard, its bad for the transmission.

Thanks again guys! Oh and yes the car is extremely loud, but I love it.

How did it feel at 100? haha. Also, your car sounds very badass. For some reason, I think of Mad Max when I hear it...

Thanks for the vid!. I bought the same kit off ebay for the auto in my cressida but have yet to install it. It has a 1uz swap and I only shimmed the accumulators and turned up the pressure. It shifts nice and hard under hard throttle but the 1-2 shift is still laggy. The transgo kit is supposed to fix that and your vid proves it. If your ls chirps like that on the 1-2 my cressida will be crazy.
Did you adjust the pressure cable on the trans? It's the cable that runs from the throttle to the trans. Adjust the tension in the cable will raise the fluid pressure and make it shift even harder/faster. Just becareful adjust too high and cause a bind in the cable at WOT.

I haven't messed with the cable. dont think i will either, as it shifts pretty hard.

I'm sure you alreaady know, but you will never get that 1-2shift without modding the valvebody.

On a side note. This makes the car very fun to drive. Yesturday I was at a red light and the roads were a little wet. In front of me on the right hand side was a repair shop, and all the guys were standing outside. Light turned green, and i slowly rolled into the gas until WOT. The tires didn't spin, but when it caught second gear the back end came out sideways! Now you know how loud my car is, and you can imagine that this probably looked pretty bada**. I let it get sideways just enough and then let off, and just cruised by the shop. After I let off, I look over and the guys were giving me the thumbs up.

Anyway, if you install this kit be careful on wet roads if you are goofing around. Normal driving is fine though.

Yeah. I know drilling out the required passage in the plate and removing the selected check ball plays a part in improving the 1-2 shift. I actually grabbed a valvebody from a LS in the junkyard and installed the kit on it. I went with the extreme also. Just havent put it in the trans. The kit came with the stiffer springs and I may use my shims with the new springs.

I know about the wet traction fun. Even with my poor 1-2 shift, it can get sideways on wet streets at WOT. Your vid has me hyped to install the kit this weekend. Your LS has a 3.63 rear gear but my cress has a 4.30 with lsd. It's gonna be very fun.
Thanks for the info.

I have no experience with any of these.

This just corrects funky issues.
