Warning light for low washer fluid came on this morning.Reservoir is full of fluid.Light will not turn off .Is this a sensor problem or a float problem?
Can an amateur fix this or does it have to go to a shop? Thanks for your help guys.
well an amateur can do it, take the Reservoir off, hold it upside down, if the light goes out, it is a float problem.
ps, have you tried doing a search?? and then tell us what you found...

Tried a search prior to starting thread.Found an old thread posted by a bunch of comedians. Will try the upside down approach this weekend.
This is just my experience but I suggest you to hit the reservoir using a wood hammer or something equivalent. You need to hit it rather strongly but don't break the reservoir.
When aged, the sensor's contacts are prone to stick. Replacing the sensor is the best way to fix but just hitting can fix it. I have tried this for several Celsiors and all of them were fixed.
When mine would come on on my 99, usually when I hit a big bump in the road I would pound on the top of the refill the cap and that usually released the cork or whatever is in there.
